The map shown below indicates the placement of the new Lakes Neighborhood exit and the widening and Interchange at Glenn's Bay Road and US 17. The proposed Lakes exit will connect to Holmestown Road. The additional exit will provide a Northbound exit for residents of The Lakes Community. This exit is being constructed in conjunction with the Glenns Bay widening and Interchange Project. This will also ease traffic when the final Glenns Bay and 17 Overpass Project is completed. New Wal-Mart in Garden City Prompts SC Roadway Construction
Roadwork is set to begin on the Garden
City Connector to widen a portion of the road near the intersection of Business
Highway 17. This roadwork is being completed in conjunction with the new
Wal-Mart that is coming to the Garden City, SC area. County representatives’
state that a majority of the roadwork will occur during evening hours with
intermittent lane closures from 6:00 PM – 7:00 AM over the next two weeks (this
is the proposed length of time).
The County hopes to resume and maintain full lane usage during daylight hours, with both lanes of traffic open for commuters.
