Georgetown Community
This small, friendly community is a unique place to settle, with its bustling Riverfront where specialty shops and historic places abound. The median family income is just shy of $35,000, and the town features its own police department, and newspaper. Georgetown history plays a large role in defining the town's identity, and many charming characteristics still remain today.

There are certainly many stunning homes in historic Georgetown. Georgetown History
Looking around Georgetown at the extraordinary buildings and tall, strong Live Oak trees lining the streets, it's easy to tell that this city has a rich history. Some historians say Georgetown became the first U.S. settlement when Europeans arrived in 1526. The colony was short-lived in large part because of fever epidemic and slave revolts. However, it was reestablished in 1729 as an area that produced indigo and rice, cash crops that were overshadowed by lumber production following the U.S. Civil War.
Georgetown also served as a seaport for supply shipments to bolster the American troops during the Revolutionary War. Over the years, several notable dignitaries have visited the historic city, including several U.S. presidents. Today, the city's Historic District, site of the original 1729 street grid, is home to more than 50 structures listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Georgetown Condos
You won't see very many high-rise Georgetown condos. In keeping with the historic and laid back southern nature of the city, Georgetown condos are more apt to be two-story townhome style, or unique upper-level condos in specialty shopping areas with a riverfront view. Several Georgetown condos feature Spanish and German architectural influences.
