Litchfield Beach Homes

Litchfield Beach real estate has begun to see increased commercial and residential development in recent years, though nowhere near the pace of other areas along the Grand Strand.

Litchfield Beach History

Like Pawleys Island, Litchfield Beach was settled in the 1700s by rice and indigo farmers. It is named for a former rice plantation in the area, Litchfield Plantation. More modern structures began cropping up in the 1960's, although the town is still unincorporated and its beaches still feature only one hotel. The town is appreciated among locals and visitors alike for its fine restaurants, world renowned golf courses and beautiful, quiet beaches. Although the pace of living on Litchfield Beach is more relaxed than other areas of the Grand Strand, it is still within easy reach of all the tourist attractions offered by Myrtle Beach.
