One of the main attractions in Myrtle Beach is the Pavilion; having opened in 1949, they still welcome families back year after year. One piece of Myrtle Beach history that many people may not realize is that the present Pine Lakes International Golf Club, the area's first golf club, is the birthplace of the magazine Sports Illustrated.
