Myrtle Beach Oceanfront Houses
With prices ranging from about $500,000 to the millions, Myrtle Beach oceanfront homes have every feature you can dream up, and probably a few extras. Housing styles range from low-lying French Provincial to more squared Nantucket designs, and many homes come with wide landscaped lawns that are tailor-made for outdoor surfside parties. Myrtle Beach's south coast climate makes it possible to enjoy the ocean year round, with water temperatures only dipping as low as the mid-fifties in January.
Living in Myrtle Beach, you'll be able to enjoy the numerous wooden piers jutting out along the coast. Tourists come from all over the country for a chance to walk barefoot on the boards, and sit at the ends of the piers with a fishing rod and an ice cream cone – as the owner of a Myrtle Beach SC waterfront home, you'll likely become an expert in this pastime.

The Grand Strand Oceanfront Homes
Myrtle Beach Waterfront Homesites
Spanning 60 miles of South Carolina's coast between Little River and Georgetown, the Grand Strand is home to some of the country's most beautiful oceanfront real estate, and Myrtle Beach's silky white sands are its mid-point.
An undeveloped Myrtle Beach waterfront home site may be uncommon, as this region has been growing steadily near the ocean for more than 40 years, but some homeowners have found that buying and rebuilding is a great way to make full use of their property's potential. Consider the Pawley's area south of town, where land values are at a minimum of $175,000 – here, you may find property with great re-building potential, at a more affordable price than other spots in the region. Outfitting your Myrtle Beach waterfront home site with a beach house is another great way to increase its value. One thing's certain – property here is a solid investment no matter what you choose to build.
North Myrtle Beach Oceanfront
North Myrtle Beach is located about 18 miles up the coast from its southern namesake. The town is a consolidation of four smaller beach communities, Windy Hill Beach, Ocean Drive Beach, Cherry Grove, and Crescent Beach, spanning nine pristine miles of the Grand Strand, and covering approximately 15 square miles. Like everywhere else in this area, North Myrtle Beach is defined by the ocean and a steady tourism economy. More than 3.5 million people visit this town of about 14,000 every year.
If you're looking for a permanent home in this area, North Myrtle Beach Oceanfront might be a better place to start looking than Myrtle Beach itself. North town offers a higher ratio of houses to condos and hotels than the big Myrtle Beach – you might find a greater variety and wider price selection here. Sitting just behind the sand dunes at the edge of the Atlantic, oceanfront homes are often raised up like piers and weather-ready here, making your view of the water that much better.
