In the 1960's Surfside Beach began to build its reputation as a family beach and by the 1970's public parking and walkways to the beach were established.
Surfside Beach has many restaurants and attractions, and is conveniently located close enough to enjoy the sights and activities in Myrtle Beach. Surfside Pier attracts many people every year to enjoy lazy days fishing, or curious vacationers trying to catch a glimpse of the day's catch.
Surfside Beach, like the rest of the Grand Strand, has become one of the fastest growing areas in the country.

East of 17 Business (walking or golf cart ride to the beach) you will mainly find homes, condos, townhouses, oceanfront, and ocean view properties within walking distance to the ocean. West of 17 Business there are many different developments to choose from featuring condos, townhouses, and homes. Surfside is also starting to see some new developments surfacing that are offering new construction opportunities.
